DisciplesNet Worship #847, Proper 12 (Cobb, 07.26.2026)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

Sometimes, things come into our lives in very small ways but end up having a great impact of who we are and what we do. Pastor Anita speaks to us from Matthew 13:31-33 and 44-42, some of the parables of Jesus, and helps us understand the encouragement we can find from "small seeds."
Join us for just over 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

Matthew 13:24-30 and 36-43 is a parable Jesus told about the judgement. It is explaining, at least in part, why evil seems to be allowed to flourish for a time. Pastor Mary Beth helps us examine the parable and to understand how judgement may be very different from what we expect.
Join us for 28 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. "I don’t understand myself at all", the Apostle Paul writes. He goes on to talk about the grasp that sin has upon him and other humans—how even though we know the right thing to do, we end up not doing it, and instead doing what we know is wrong. Pastor Russ helps us look at this in our worship today, looking at the question, “How Then Shall We Live?” from Romans 7:15-24.
Join us for 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion.
