Welcome to DisciplesNet worship. Our message this week looks at the movement of the church out of Jerusalem as the church began growing in Jerusalem--and how we are asked to spread the love of God in this 21st century. Rev. Deb Phelps looks at how the Holy Spirit moves along the bridges we create. Continue reading →

Rev. Bob Shaw tells the story of rescuing Gladly as a metaphor for God's mercy to us.
Glady is a stuffed bear that came to work at the DisciplesNet studio after something especially scary happened to him! You will need to listen to Rev. Bob Shaw's story to get the details of his rescue.
By the way, Gladly's name comes from the story of the child who heard people in church singing the hymn,"Gladly the Cross I Bear," which is about people following in footsteps of Jesus. But the child thought the adults were singing instead, "Gladly the cross-eyed bear," about a friendly bear somehow connected to Jesus' love.
We hope you'll enjoy this story about Gladly's adventure, and know that God is with you, too, even when scary times come.

We welcome you to God Cares, a special 67 minute worship video, having 25 instrumental versions of hymns with a background of inspiring photos to bring peace to you.
The piano music is the gift of Beverly Carmichael Heid, who learned piano as a way of coping with serious illness. Since then, Bev has been playing her music for others, bringing that same sense of hope, comfort, and rest for times of trouble and weariness.
We hope that you are blessed by this video and will share it with others.
We've experienced some technical problems this week, meaning that this weeks' worship will not be posted until Monday. In the meantime, we offer this worship replay of an earlier worship, "In Search of Compassion" with sermon by Richard Propes.
We sincerely apologize for the problems of our missing worship, but hope that in the meantime, you will be blessed in hearing Richard tell his story.

We invite you to join us in the uplifting song, "On Eagles Wings." This is sung by two pastor-musicians, Twana Harris and Dean Phelps, who came to our DIsicplesNet studio to sing hymns and spiritual songs for our DisciplesNet audience around the world. We hope that you will be uplifted in listening, and singing along if you would like. After the song you will find the scripture reading that the song was written about: Isaiah 40:28-31.
This video has a special Dedication to persons struggling in the aftermath of the May 2013 tornadoes in Oklahoma as this video was being created, as well as all others who are dealing with the storms of life.
DisciplesNet is an online church and ministry that reaches out using the internet, crossing barriers and boundaries to share the Good News of God's love. We believe that God's love is for all people without exception, including people who may not be able to be part of a traditional church. We are learning as we go, and appreciate your patience in the places where our videos are not perfect.
It is our prayer that you are uplifted by watching the video and will share it with any you know who could benefit from seeing it.

Welcome you to DisciplesNet worship! Our message today is one of hope, coming from the story of Paul and Silas, in jail…but showing a most unusual behavior. Pastor Bob Shaw's message, "Release to the Captives," challenges us to bring the message of Acts forward into your life.
Our time together, 30 minutes, includes prayer, scripture, singing, and listening to the word together with people in times and places all around the world. This week we offer the special gospel song, "Paul and Silas bound in Jail," sung by Dean Phelps, and special gifts of the Southport Christian Church praise band.
As we do every week, our time together includes a time of communion (breaking of the bread) where you may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me."
If you would like to share with us at the table that defies all boundaries of time, place, and structure, then we ask that you prepare a wafer, cracker, or bread and a drink. As we pray, we are praying that our blessing extends to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us. (Scroll down for an Order of Worship)
We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from beige part. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that are always open, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.
If you would like to chat with one of our pastors, including talking more about belief in God, becoming a Christian or following Christ, or living as a disciple of Christ, please email us at pastor@disciplesnet.org, or contact us using the contact information on our website, including our community, DisciplesNet City Cafe, found on our website.
